Tennis OOTD

Hello girls,

I hope everybody is having a great & sunny Sunday! I can't believe that there are 30 degrees outside on the 29th of April. This is completely mad! I'm not sure how much this high temperatures will last, but in the meantime I'm in such a holiday mood and I all I want to do is...nothing! Just relax, go to the seaside and hang out with my friends. But, the horrible dissertation won't give me peace, so I have to ignore the beautiful weather and stop procrastinating and get to work.

Anyway, today I wanted to show you what I wore on Friday when I went to a tennis match. Since I went to see the match right after work, I opted for a smart casual outfit.

I paired a stripped top from H&M with a printed scarf also from H&M and with a pair of dark skinny jeans from Miss Sixty. Because I knew I was going to return home in the evening I took my favourite Promod jacket which I bought around two years ago. I then added two of my favourite pieces from my wardrobe, namely my Nine West nude flats and my much adored Modalu Toffee Pippa bag. Normally I would have opted for a smaller bag or a cross body bag, but since I had to go to work first I needed a more spacious bag and my Modalu was just perfect. I just love this bag so much. It's so beautiful and....perfect! The shape, the colour, the size, its design...I love everything about it! (if you haven't seen my review of the bag, check it out here)

Congratulation to our boys for winning such a beautiful match!

So this is it, I hoped you liked the outfit! Have a great start of the week and for the ones who, like me, are on an extended weekend thanks to the public holiday, have loads of fun! x

Today I like...

This gorgeous sweater with chiffon printed front from Zara. I love the combination between knits and silky materials, so this sweater screams perfection (as far as I'm concerned) for the transition period. I love the front print and the neutral colour of the sweater. I hope that it's going to be as beautiful in real life as it is in the pictures and that it will suit me well. Fingers crossed I'm going to find it in store!

Lots of love x

From Vogue's Archives

A few days ago I was browsing Vogue's web page and came across their cover archive section where I found some beautiful cover art. And because I couldn't keep these amazing covers to myself, I made this post consisting of my favourite ones. It will come as no surprise that the covers I like the most are the earliest ones since you all know I have a thing for old looking things. For everything that screams history actually.

Anyway, without further introduction, here are my favourite Vogue covers of all time:

November 1919. I particularly like the early covers for their beautiful and elegant illustrations.

November 1920

March 1929

April 1930

June 1934. One of the very first photographs used for a magazine cover. The first ever photographic Vogue cover appeared in 1932.

August 1938. This is the most beautiful Vogue cover ever in my opinion. The model, the clothes, her pose, the covers's glamorous and sophisticated touches...it's really amazing.

August 1942

November 1949

March 1962

June 1962.  Jean Shrimpton (a famous English model of the time with numerous Vogue covers) appears on the cover for the first time.

March 1964

October 1969

May 1975

April 1983

November 1991

June 1998. No Vogue cover archive could be complete without Kate Moss. I think she looks so fresh and beautiful in this photo.

June 2006. Kate did so many Vogue covers that it was impossible for me not to choose another photo of her. This is my favourite cover from Vogue's more recent cover archive.

Do you have any favourite covers from the above ones? If you liked this post and you are interested in discovering even more covers, enter Vogue's web page and browse all you like through their archive.

Take care lovelies x

Nine West nude ballet flats & some chit chat

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I had an amazing day...one of those days that get better and better as the hours pass by. I just love love love these kind of days! But then again, who doesn't? I started the day with some great news from work regarding a much awaited  Easter bonus yeeey! Moreover, I received a notification from River Island informing me that they had free international delivery for 48 hours!! Of course I considered this as a sign from Heavens that I should order the front tassel cross body bag over which I've been obsessing for the past month. Theeeen, after I left work I met up with one of my friends and went to a shopping centre because I wanted to buy a pair of nude ballet flats from Nine West (they had 20% off the current season for the holidays)! Therefore, I bought this gorgeous pair of flats as a gift to myself for Easter. And what better way to spend a bonus than on a present...even if it is for myself, right? :)

I also went to H&M, where I had a lovely surprise since I finally managed to get my hands on their famous feather ring (which is gorgeous)! Then we went to a lovely restaurant where we had some pastas and some quality girl time. But there was one more surprise waiting for me at home, namely my Elf brushes which came by post in the afternoon. Personally I don't like to spend too much money on brushes, so the Elf ones are perfect for me.

So yeah, this was my beautiful day. I know it didn't consist of something remarkable for mankind or anything, but it was a great day for me and precisely because these type of days are pretty rare, you come to appreciate them even more.

Anyway, enough with the talking, time for some pictures now. First in line are my nude Nine West ballet flats. They are so pretty and sweet, the leather is really soft and the colour is beautiful. Plus, the 20% off made them even more beautiful!

Next up, my new H&M feather ring

And, last but not least I wanted to show you my Elf flat powder brush. It's super soft and I'm really pleased with it. I use it to apply my mineral Sephora foundation (my favourite foundation) and it does a great job.

This is it, lovelies. I want to wish everybody a very Happy Easter filled with joy and special moments! And enjoy the short holiday!

Lots of love x

OOTD: Layering

Hello loves,

It seems that the cold weather has returned and from what I've heard it will not leave us very soon. Hence, back to warmer clothes unfortunately...Just when I hoped that I've seen the last of my sweaters and boots. But spring tends to be fickle so this comes as no surprise really.

Anyway, I really liked the outfit I've worn today for work so I decided to snap a few pictures before I left for the hairdressers in the afternoon (my ends needed a little trimming).

This is one of my favourite sweaters due to its loose fit and its waterfall-like ends. It's from H&M and I bought it more than a year ago along with the scarf, and both of the items remained some of my favourite pieces. The jacket is from Orsay from the current collection. It has a gorgeous tan colour and it quickly became one of my staple pieces for this season.

The rest of my outfit consists of a River Island bag, a pair of Lee black jeans and Bata suede booties. Looking now at the pictures I realise that most of the items I wore today are among my favourite items in my wardrobe; probably this is why I loved this outfit so much.

That's it from me. I hope there's warm and sunny where you are right now and you're enjoying the weekend!

Lots of kisses x

Today I like...

...Eva Longoria looking super chic in sunny LA! I really like the combination between skinny jeans, a flowy shirt and high heels. This is probably my favourite type of outfit for spring since it requires so little effort to obtain such a great (and rather comfortable) result. She looks so effortlessly chic!

Vienna - City Guide

Hello everyone,

As I've mentioned so many times before, one of my favourite cities in the world is Vienna. Therefore I thought why not dedicate it another post? Maybe there are people interested in visiting this beautiful city and I might help through this type of post.  I've been three time to Vienna up to now and I wanted to make a post about what to visit, where to stay, where to shop, where and what to eat, etc...some sort of city guide. So, if you are interested sit comfortably and enjoy the ride read :)

Where to stay in Vienna?
I believe that the perfect place to seek accommodation in Vienna is around Museumsquartier. Everything is within walking distance from this area:
- The Kunsthistorische Museum and Maria Theresia Platz are 2 min away from MQ
- The Hofburg Palace is 5 minutes away
- Mariahilferstrasse is 2 minutes away
- the Rathaus (City Hall) is around 10 minutes away
- Stephan's Dom is 15-20 minutes away
- The State Opera is around 10-15 minutes away
- Karlskirche is around 15 minutes away

Another advantage is that you are still in central Vienna but the prices aren't as high as they are near Stephan's Dom for example. Near MQ you can find the boheme streets of Spittelberg filled with restaurants and charming boutiques.
Every time as I was in Vienna I stayed at K+K Maria Theresia Hotel and I can honestly say that this is one of the best if not the best hotel I've ever stayed in. It is a 4 star hotel with an excellent location and even though it is a little pricey, you won't regret spending your money on it. The rooms are quite spacious and modern and extremely clean, the breakfast is beyond generous and delicious; moreover it is located on a quiet street so you don't have to worry about traffic or other disruptive noises. Another great thing about the hotel is the fact that is located 3 or 4 minutes from a metro station, thus facilitating your access to every corner of the city.
Other good areas to seek accommodation are around the Hofburg Palace, the State Opera or around the Rathaus.

Maria Theresia Hotel

What to visit?
In this section I'll try to group the main attractions with respect to their location so that visiting them will be more efficient.
On the first day, you can start your tour from The Hofburg Palace. The palace tour will last around one hour and a half and the price of the ticket is around 10 Euros. After you leave the Hofburg you will reach Stephan's Dom in about 10 minutes. The tour of the Dom can last between 20 minutes and one hour (at most) depending on what you want to visit inside.  The State Opera is located at the end of Kartnerstrasse (an important shopping street which links the Dom and the Opera) so you can stop and admire it on your way back to Museumsquartier (if you wish to return to the same point you started your tour). Moreover, if you are interested, you can go to a beautiful concert at the Opera since the city centre is filled with people selling tickets for various concerts.

The Hofburg Palace

Stephan's Dom

The beautiful architecture from the city centre

The State Opera

In another day you can visit the Kunsthistorische Museum, the Parliament and the Rathaus; it will not take you more than 2-3 hours and thus you will have time to visit the beautiful and relaxing Stadpark in the afternoon (a few metro stations away from the city centre).

Kunsthistorische Museum

Parliament

Stadpark

While you are in Vienna you cannot miss The Schonbrunn Palace (the imperial summer residence) with its sumptuous rooms and gorgeous gardens. Inside the gardens of Schonbrunn you will find the oldest Zoo in the world which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so be sure to check it out. The tour of the Palace will last a whole day because there are so many things you can visit inside its walls. There are three types of tickets (between 15 and 30 Euros I think, depending on how much you want to visit).

Schonbrunn Palace

The Gloriette

The Roman Ruins from Schonbrunn's gardens

Another day, other places to visit. If you stay near MQ or the Hofburg you can reach Karlskirche by foot in about 15 minutes. From here it will take another 20 or 30 minutes by foot for you to reach The Belvedere Palace which hosts a beautiful collection of paintings (the ticket is around 10 Euros) and you can take a walk through the palace's beautiful gardens. If you still are in a visiting mood and you have time, go and visit The Albertina Museum on your way back to the Hofburg (if you want to come back to the starting point).

Karlskirche

Belvedere Palace

Therefore, in about 4 or 5 days you can visit most of Vienna's beautiful tourist attractions. You can add another day for shopping and there you have it.

What and where to eat?
The Austrians are famous for their schnitzel and apple strudel so be sure to eat as many as you can during your stay because they are absolutely delicious. In  my opinion, the best place to eat in Vienna is in the lovely Spittelberg. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, the majority of them with reasonable prices and situated on some charming boheme streets. My favourite restaurant is called Am Spittelberg because they serve the most delicious Viennese Schnitzel.

Where to shop?
Vienna's main shopping street is Mariahilferstrasse. It is pretty amazing since it has almost two kilometres filled with shops: Zara, Forever 21, H&M, Mango, Peek & Cloppenburg (my favourite), Humanic, Deichmann, C&A, Orsay, Promod, Esprit, Pimkie, and many others.

Mariahilferstrasse

Also, Kartnerstrasse is another great shopping street (right next to Stephen's Dom) with many high street brands.

If you are interested in high end brands, you will find them on Kohlmarkt and Graben (the streets which link The Hofburg Palace and Stephan's Dom). Among the famous brands you will find Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry, Hermes, Cartier, to name just a few.

Wow this was a long post, wasn't it? I really hope you enjoyed reading it  :)

Vienna is truly a beautiful and elegant city, filled with beautiful people and amazing places. So if you have the chance, don't hesitate and go and visit it. It might not be as famous as Rome or Paris, but it has a specific charm which you'll never find in any other city and which will capture you instantly.
