Vogue stikes again

A  few days ago I came across this dreamy Vogue editorial which featured the wonderful Kate Moss and I  was instantly mesmerised. The glamorous photo shoot took place at The Ritz in Paris, where Kate modelled some haute couture pieces by Alexander McQueen, Dior, Valentino and Giambattista Valli. The result is absolutely breathtaking, with Kate Moss looking like a modern Marie Antoinette. I've told you before I'm obsessed with Marie Antoinette and 18th century France and this fact probably made me love the photos even more. Not to mention the gorgeous rooms from The Ritz which look exactly like the royal apartments from Versailles or from any other equally wonderful chateau.

I know that these pictures are all over the Internet and everybody is talking about them, but I liked them so much that it was impossible for me not to dedicate them a post. Feast your eyes, ladies!

What do your think about this editorial? Which are your favourite photos? Mine are the first two...the bed from the first photo and the dining room from the second one are absolutely fabulous, aren't they? (I never thought that a hotel could be this amazing)

The return of the trench coat

Hello beautiful people!

Are you having a good day so far? Personally, I should be working on my dissertation right now but what am I doing instead? Writing a post. And what will I do after finishing this post? Most chances are I will read another blog/ magazine/ book, clean my room or cook...anything that will prevent me from writing my dissertation. I don't know about you, but during spring I find it most difficult to concentrate when I have uni work. During winter it's easier to write my essays or study because it's cold outside and it gets dark at 5 pm. But during spring, how exactly am I supposed to concentrate with all the sun, the beautiful weather and flowers outside? But alas, I have to make one final effort in my student life...my dissertation. Therefore, I solemnly promise that after writing this post, I will start writing...even if it's only one page! (one has to start somewhere)

Hence, let's get  down to business. Yesterday I had another conference to attend and I had to dress up a little. I've almost forgotten how much I loved this Zara trench coat. For me, it represents perfection: ideal length, made of cotton and in a neutral shade. Best trench coat ever and also a good investment. In terms of shoes, I opted for the millionth time for my beloved Zara tan boots. I know you've seen them in almost every outfit this past winter and I don't blame you for thinking this is the only pair of boots I own. But every time I select an outfit I like, I tend to pair it with these boots. I do have other boots in other colours, but this are my current favourites and when I like a certain item I tend to wear it constantly (I guess this is a common feature among women). Anyway, this was  probably one of their last outings since it's getting hotter and hotter outside and I will finally be able to wear pumps or ballet flats!

The ruffled blouse I'm wearing it's from Dorothy Perkins and it's one of my favourites. I think it looks somewhat Victorian thanks to its collar and the gorgeous embroidery it has on the sleeves, but I love it. I always feel so elegant when I'm wearing it. It also has a very soft material which gives it even a more luxurious appearance.

Lastly, I've chosen  this River Island satchel I bought one year ago which I believe gave this particular outfit a business twist. I felt like I was leading the company, not working for it :))

Oh, but look at me talking as if I were an expert in fashion. Well, I'm not  and I don't even claim to be one. I just like to ramble (a lot) about it and share my visions and opinions :D

Well, that's it from me today. I wish you a wonderful rest of the week! (and go outside and enjoy the sun and the warm weather!!!...I will be inside....writing on my dissertation. So much fun!)

Outfit for a Relaxed Saturday & New Jewelry Holder

Happy weekend everyone!

Today the weather was absolutely wonderful and I couldn't waste my day indoors. Therefore I went out for a stroll and a bit of shopping for some spring clothes. The walk in the old city centre was great and relaxing and the shopping went pretty well as I managed to find some beautiful pieces over at Zara. I finally managed to get my hands on a mint coloured blouse yeeey! (mint, where have thou been all my life??) There were a lot of gorgeous clothes in the store and if I had the necessary resources I would have left the store with a huge number of pieces of clothing. So if you are looking for some new additions to your spring wardrobe, then you should definitely go and check out the stuff over at Zara.

Here is what I wore on this beautiful Sunday afternoon (I took the photos with my Blackberry, therefore the quality is not that great...but the battery from my camera died).

Jacket - Orsay
Sweater - Stradivarius
Scarf - H&M
Bag - Nine West
Boots - Zara

Some candy coloured goodies from Zara. I love the pastel trend for this season since I've always been a fan of pastel shades. The current spring/ summer season seems to be extremely feminine with all those flowy materials, flower prints and candy shades!

The last thing I wanted to show you is my new jewelry holder, which is actually a mug holder but I think it does a great job at holding my necklaces.

I really needed something to put my necklaces and long pendants on and this mug holder is brilliant. It stores lots of jewelry and I think it also looks quite nice too. So next time you visit the kitchenware department pay extra attention to all the frying pans, forks or pots since who knows in what other ways then can be useful. Just kidding :))

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Just a normal day at work...or not?!

 Hello guys!

It's been a while since I've done an outfit post, so I thought I should get this 'problem' fixed! Yesterday I had a great day...one of those days when you feel that you can conquer the world! In the  morning I had to go to a conference which was supposed to last until 6 in the evening but fortunately I was able to leave around 2 o'clock because my ultra super interpreter skills were no longer required, so my boss took mercy on me and asked the chauffeur to take me back home, but I asked him to take me downtown because I had some little shopping to do (boy, I could get used to this...a chauffeur at my disposal, a fancy car...you might think I have a fairytale job or something, but I actually don't :)) these types of things happen rarely) Hmmm I wonder when am I going to be able to repeat this diva-like experience again... Mooooooving on now, after buying the things I wanted I returned home (via the glamorous tube this time) and then I went to a birthday party. I wish I could have days like these more often, when everything falls into place and goes swimmingly!

Before I left the house in the morning I snapped a few pictures of what I was wearing.  Because I expected to be stuck to a chair for more than 6 hours I opted for some jeans but I paired them with a ruffled shirt, a navy cardigan, heeled booties and my beautiful Modalu bag so that my outfit would be on the casual smart side. I hope you like the result :)

Shirt - Mango
Cardigan - Peek & Cloppenburg
Jeans - Miss Sixty
Booties - Nine West
Bag - Modalu

That's it from me. Enjoy the rest of the week!

February Favourites

Hello girls,

I hope you are having a wonderful sunny weekend! Today I wanted to write about the products I've used the most in the past month. Since most of February was pretty cold and it snowed a lot, I used a lot of hydrating products (shocking, I know) and less make-up products on my face since I risked turning into a raccoon due to the all the snow. Therefore, for me, the first part of February hasn't been very glam since my main purpose was to be hydrated and natural :) Thankfully, spring is here now and I can't wait for all the colour!

On to the favourites now:

1. Benefit Erase Paste - I'm in love with this concealer; I like its texture, its coverage and the fact that it brightens my under eye area. The only minus is the fact that it tends to settle into the fine lines under my eyes, but if you apply some powder on top of it it will resolve the problem.

2. Carmex lip balm - the best lip balm I've ever used. I have very sensitive lips so this highly moisturising lip balm is perfect for me whether I use it on its own or as a base for my lipstick.

3. Nivea Pure & Natural body milk - I really like Nivea's Pure & Natural line. I find this body lotion to be very hydrating and you only need a relatively small amount of product to do the job.

4. Dove hand cream (winter limited edition) - I have really dry skin on my hands so I constantly need a very hydrating hand cream, especially during winter time, and this limited edition hand cream from Dove was surprisingly good.

5. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in the shade 'boy' - this has got to be my favourite lipstick shade. I love natural shades on my lips and this gorgeous shade of natural pink looks so elegant and luxurious. I also love its soft texture and the fact that it's so easy to ware.

6. Lancome Juicy Tube in 'Lychee' - in terms of lip glosses, this new Juicy Tube is my current favourite. I like the fact that it's so moisturising and it has a good lasting power. It is a bit too sheer, but it has a nice pinkish shade, perfect for natural looks.

7. Sephora and Maybelline liquid eye liners - since in February I went for a more natural look which didn't involve any elaborate eye make-up, these two liquid eyeliners (one in purple and one in black) were my most reached out eye products. These two aren't exactly the most intense eyeliners but they are very appropriate for a more natural look.

8. Garnier Fructis hair polishing wax - in winter my hair tends to be quite freezy due to all the hats and knitwear, so I needed a product to keep it under control. This polishing wax from Garnier Fructis, except from the fact that it smells divine, kept my hair into place, fixing (most of the times) its frizz typical for this dry period. I also liked the fact that it offered shine to my hair, which made it look healthier.

9. Apple scented Ikea candle - it smells gorgeous! I think this is my new favourite scent. It's so fresh and energising.

Which were your favourites this month? Any product you can recommend me?

Take care x

First Day of Spring

Happy 1st of March! Spring is finally here (at least according to the calendar) and even though there is still snow here and there and the temperatures aren't very high, at least winter is over and the weather will only get better and better! I can't wait to stroll among blossomed trees and beautiful spring flowers, such as tulips, freesias and hyacinths... I can't wait for sunny days and light clothes (bring in the dresses, blazers, skirts and sandals)! I can't be the only one who is this excited, can I? :P

Today's post is not about something specific but about a mixture of random things. So first and foremost, let me offer you (at least virtually) a little symbol of spring and some beautiful flowers and wish you a colourful spring full of joy!

Since it is officially spring I wanted to put some pictures with a few spring/ summer dresses like some sort of preview for what we will finally be able to wear in a hopefully short while after months of jumpers and coats!  Just look at those flowy materials and beautiful prints!

(the first two are from Topshop and the last two from Dorothy Perkins)

Lastly, I wanted to show you some funny looking walnuts I made for my neighbour's niece on her 3rd birthday. They are part of a much more elaborated design, but my task was to create their heads and I'm proud of what it came out (yes, I am aware that a 5 year old could also do that but that doesn't make me less proud :)) )

That's it from me. I know this was a rather random post but I just wanted to say a few things just to mark the beginning of spring!

Have a beautiful spring everyone!

Take care x
