Déjà Vu

Hello, beautiful people! Today's OOTD consists of pieces of clothing which you have seen in previous outfit posts, hence the title of "déjà vu". These are some of my favourite pieces and when I like something and feel very comfortable in the respective piece, I tend to wear it...a lot!

Yesterday I went to see a movie in the evening and I was pretty tired, thus I chose a very comfy outfit which included a pair of ripped jeans, ballet flats, my new embellished top and my much loved Modalu bag. So yeah, I think this is the perfect type of outfit when you want to go out but want to dress cosy without looking drab. Also, please excuse the very tired face...it was Monday...I rest my case :D

Summer Through my Phone

Since this is going to be the last summer weekend I decided to do somewhat of a retrospective of my summer by means of the photos I managed to snap with my phone. Obviously the above photo is not from my phone, but since it is my favourite pic from this summer, I guess I'm allowed to cheat, aren't I?

All in all I had a beautiful and busy summer with lots of travelling but also relaxing moments and I'm pretty sad it will be over soon since summer is my favourite season. But knowing the weather in Bucharest, we will probably have an extended summer which is great!

Some of my first summer purchases: the most beautiful pair of sandals and my favourite silk scarf from Zara

Packing for Rome / The Trevi Fountain

The amazing Colosseum / The Sistine Chapel

Delicious Lebanese food / One of my favourite places to eat and have some drinks

Lying on the beach / A very funny and overly talkative individual

The most adorable dog which made my stay at the mountains even more pleasant / Peles Castle in Sinaia

 Some of my favourite purchases this summer: Guess purse and Asos clutch

So, these have been the highlights of my summer. I hope you had an amazing time this summer and that you have all your batteries recharged for autumn!

Lots of love x

Embellished Top

Hello girls! I hope you are having a great weekend! A few days ago we had a national bank holiday and I had the day off from work. Thus I decided to go and buy my little niece some lovely presents for her birthday and then I went for a walk in the park. The top I'm wearing was a treat to myself, being such a good auntie, and it's my newest love. It has some beautiful embellishments on the shoulders and I really like its dusty pink shade. I love how it looks on my skin. Also the dropped shoulder was another plus. I paired it with a some white shorts, a fringed suede bag and some grey flats. Even though the outfit is really simple and laid back, I love how it looks.

Windy Day by the Sea

Hello girls! For today I have another outfit from my trip to the seaside. I was away for five days and the weather was great except for one day when it was windy and rather chilly. I took these photos on that particular day when I decided to take a long walk on the beach and admire the rather stormy sea. I really like how the photos turned out, even thought my hair was all over my face because of the strong wind.

Floral Maxi Dress

Hello sweeties, what have you been up to lately? I've been at the seaside for the past couple of days and I had a delightful time! The weather was great for the most part, I had a lot of fun and I got a great tan. I would really love to live in a city which is located by the sea because I adore the sea, the sunny weather and the long, beautiful walks on the beach.

For a lovely dinner I've chosen to wear my new maxi dress from New Look which I've bought right before I left on holiday. It has a beautiful floral print and a nice flowy chiffon material and the waist is emphasised by a slim brown belt. The clutch I'm wearing is also a new addition, I bought it two or three weeks ago from Asos and what I love about it, except is colour and beautiful design, is the fact that I can wear it from day to night. I think it is a great choice for the dress, since it creates a much needed contrast.

I really love this dress and I feel great while wearing it.  It's definitely one of my favourite summer dresses. What about you? What is your favourite piece for summer?

Zara Floral Print Silk Scarf

I bought this scarf about a month ago from the Zara sales for half of its initial price, which was quite a bargain considering its excellent quality - it's made of silk and cotton. It is slightly oversized and it's pretty warm, therefore I can use it also in autumn with a jacket or with a sweater. I absolutely love its floral print (you know I'm a sucker for florals) and its rich colours. It will definitely make any outfit stand out!

Due tot he fact that we are still in the sales period, chances are you will still find it in store. I think it has become my favourite scarf at the moment and I can't wait to wear it! (although with the extremely high temperatures we are currently having in Bucharest I'll probably have to wait until September)

Take care x

Packing Tips

Hello, girls! I know it's been a while since I last posted something but for the past week I've been at my godmother's house in Sinaia and all I've done was lie out in the sun, read a few magazines, take some relaxing walks and play with my neighbour's adorable dog.

But now I'm back with a new post about packing tips. Since there is one more month of summer and some of us are still going on holiday, I thought that this type of post can be helpful.

So, here are the main steps I follow when I prepare my clothes for a trip:

1. A few days before I leave, I think about the clothes I would like to take with me in order to see if some of them need to be washed so that they will be ready in time;
2. I always check the weather online so that I can pack all the right clothes which are appropriate for my destination;
3. In order to avoid over packing I try to pick my clothes depending on the number of days I'm going to spend on holiday. If for example I am going to be away for 6 or 7 days, I try to build up around two outfits per day (with a few extra items just in case) so that I'm not going to stuff my luggage with unnecessary clothes;
4. Furthermore, when picking out my outfits, I think about the places I have to visit so that I can be dressed appropriately depending on any situation. For example, take my recent trip to Rome, because I knew that I was going to spend most of the days walking for hours through the city, I tried to pack some of the most comfortable pieces of clothing I own, such as short shorts, flowy tops and comfy flat sandals;
5. Because I love to feel comfortable when I'm on holiday, when it comes to my bags, most often I choose to take with me a medium sized bag or/ and a cross body bag, big enough to fit my camera, a map, a travel guide, my purse and a few extra bits such as a face spray, a lip balm or a hand sanitiser.
6. I don't usually take too many pairs of shoes with me (around four):  two or three pairs of comfy shoes, and maybe one pair of wedges or heeled shoes which I deposit in dust bags.

When it comes to my makeup, I like to keep thinks really simple and natural. I'm on holiday, aren't I? This is why all I need is: a mascara, an eyeliner, some concealer, a very light foundation or a BB cream, a blush, one or two lipsticks and a make-up palette with nude/ natural colours (just in case I fell the need to doll up a little) such as the Naked Palette or the Coastal Scents Warm Palette. Also, whenever I am going to a place where the weather is very hot, the face spray is a staple product for me because it has a reinvigorating effect on my skin.

Skin care wise, these are the main products I take with me on a trip: a hydrating face cream, makeup wipes, tonic lotion, a body lotion and a hand cream.

Hair care wise, I usually take with me: shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, dry shampoo and a hair straightener.

As far as my jewelry is concerned, I try not to exaggerate and take my whole jewellery box. Instead I take with me around two pairs of earrings. a few rings, one or two necklaces and a few bracelets and I usually deposit them in a small box.

Miscellaneous tips:
1. Always put your shoes and other chunky pieces of clothing (such as jackets) at the bottom of the suitcase;
2. Always keep your money and passport with you. If not, put them in the deposit box from your hotel room;
3. Put all your liquids in plastic bags so that in case they spill, they will not stain your clothes;
4. If you have some valuable jewellery or possessions with you, then it would be a good choice to carry them in your hand luggage;
5. Make a list with the most important things and revise it on the eve of your departure so that you won't forget anything you might need.

I'm not an expert in packing but since I love travelling so much I thought I could share with you some of my packing tips. You can think of these tips as some general guidelines which you can adapt to your own needs. Remember that besides your money, ID cards and passport, most of the things are not irreplaceable and that wherever you are going there are plenty of shops to buy from in case you forget your toothbrush or your jacket for example.

Enjoy your holidays, loves! x
