Rome Haul

Hello girls, I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! For today I decided to make a little haul post about the stuff I bought in Rome. I didn't go all crazy in the shops, but I absolutely love all the things I've bought!

A few thoughts about shopping in Rome? Well, to be honest I wasn't overly impressed. It was OK (my all time favourite shopping street continues to be Mariahilferstrasse in Vienna). Their main shopping streets are Via del Corso, Via Nazionale and Via Condotti (which is filled with designer shops). Among the high street brands there's Zara, Mango, Guess, Massimo Dutti, Bata, Promod, Levi's and H&M. But there is also a large number of Italian boutiques, some of them being a little pricey. My favourite was named Class; they have beautiful and qualitative clothes, so be sure to check out this pretty boutique if you're there.

Now on to the things I've bough...In terms of clothing I purchased only two things, a lovely studded collar blouse from Zara (finally!!) and the most perfect tan leather jacket from Class. I always wanted a leather jacket which resembled a blazer and which was fitted at the waist and I was lucky enough to find this one at a reasonable price in the sales. The quality of the leather is incredible (after all, Italian leather is famous for its quality), it fits beautifully and it has a gorgeous colour.

The next thing I've bought is a purse from Guess also in beautiful tan colour. I always wanted to own something from Guess but their prices are kind of steep for my budget, therefore when I found this beauty reduced to a reasonable price I jumped at the opportunity.

My next exciting purchase (for me at least) is Urban Decay's Naked Palette which I've been longing for quite some time, but since it is unavailable in my country and because I was reluctant to buy it from the Internet, I waited until my trip to Rome to buy it from their Sephora. It's so beautiful, the colours are gorgeous and perfect for my style.

The last things I bought, are a few YSL makeup products from the duty-free. I bought the Faux Clis Shocking Mascara, the Tough Eclat and a radiant blush. I think my favourite product is the blush because it is half matte half shimmery and it gives your skin a nice pinkish dewy finish.

The end :) Did you like anything in particular? If you want me to review any of the products of if you want more information, feel free to ask. Also, I find it unnecessary to add that I'm by no means trying to brag! It is only the pure joy of sharing my excitement with people who are interested in the same things as I am.

Take care, beauties x

Amazing Rome

Hello, beautiful people! How is everybody doing? I just came back from Rome two days ago and I thought I should do a post about my trip to this beautiful Italian city. So, first I'm going to share my impressions and then I will show you a selection of my favourite photos :)

Rome is a wonderful city and I was really impressed with its beauty and its atmosphere. I was really blown away by its architecture, by its historical monuments and by all the amazing places it has to offer. Being the history geek that I am, it was particularly remarkable to visit the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, places filled with so much history and legends. Probably this is why they were my favourite part of Rome, along with the Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, then the Villa Borghese park is the perfect place to do so. I found it particularly relaxing walking through the rooms of Palazzo Barberini while admiring the works of Raphael or Hans Holbein (I finally got to see the famous portrait of Henry VIII!!). The Vatican and the Castle Sant'Angelo are also quite incredible and shouldn't be missed if you are planning a trip to Rome. I really enjoyed walking through Rome's narrow streets and exploring the city step by step while relaxing from time to time near a beautiful fountain in one of its numerous piazzas.

However, I would recommend visiting Rome in the spring or autumn in order to avoid the hoards of tourists and the unbearable heat. I think Rome was the busiest city I've ever visited, topping Paris and Barcelona. But this doesn't make it less beautiful or take away its charm. Rome will always be Rome and its incredible historical background and legacy will linger on forever.

And now for the photos...

My Top 10 Summer Essentials

Hello loves!

I'm finally done with my dissertation paper and I managed to obtain the highest score! I'm so happy and proud and I can't wait to start a new chapter in my life. Anyway, after this stressful period, summer can officially begin for me and this is why I've chosen to make my first post in July a summer essentials post. So without further introduction, here are my top 10 summer essentials (clothes wise and makeup wise):

1. Bold prints
This season is all about big bold floral prints, whether we're talking about dresses, blouses, pants or scarfs.

(I've just bought this silk Zara scarf two days ago and it's really amazing)

2. Ice-cream colours
From what I've seen in the shops, ice-cream colours are a huge hit this season. I personally love this trend since I adore pastel shades. My favourite colour from this palette is mint, a colour which I believe to be the star colour of this season.

3. Flat sandals
Flat sandals are the perfect option for these hot summer days if you want to feel comfortable the entire day. Whether you choose a beaded pair, one with tassels or some gladiators, be sure to buy a pair that fits your style so that you will feel comfortable and stylish all day long.

4. The perfect pair of short shorts
I love shorts. For me nothing scream summer better than a pair of short shorts. I don't believe you should have long perfect legs to rock a pair. Just find a pair that is perfect for your body shape and in which you feel comfortable.

 5. Lovely summer dress
Another item which I love during summer is a flowy, beautifully coloured dress. They are extremely feminine and comfortable and this season they came in a large variety of shapes, prints and colours.

6. Colourful jewellery
This season is all about colour and jewellery is no exception. A bold coloured piece can make any outfit stand out.

7. Mini cross body bag
I'm  a huge fan of cross body mini bags, especially during summer when I feel the need to be as comfortable as ever. Whether you pick a brightly coloured bag or a neutral one, mini bags are the perfect option for hot summer days.

8. Refreshing face spray
During these extremely hot summer days, when you feel that your make-up melts on your face, the best solution is to use a refreshing face spray which will revitalise your skin and make-up instantly. My personal favourite is the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, but there are plenty other brands to chose from.

9. Summer fragrance
Our clothes aren't the only ones which should scream summer, but our fragrances should do that too. So go and find a gorgeous fresh or sweet fragrance which will make you smell and feel incredible. My recommendation is Gorgeous Gardenia by Gucci or Nina Ricci's Elixir.

10. Bright make-up
As I said, this summer is all about colour so whether you choose a bright eyeshadow, a bright liner or a bright lipstick, don't forget to get your colour fix this season.

That's it guys, I hope you liked this post and if you have your own top summer essentials please tell me about them in the comments box below. And since the sales season has begun, I wish you all happy bargain shopping!

Lots of love x
